Traditional look with the strength, durability and performance of a synthetic. Nearly indistinguishable from Natural Hemp, Hempex has a softer hand, requires less maintenance and wont rot.

The 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" diameters of Hempex rope make an excellent, long lasting rope for stair railings. See the stair rope and hardware section of our site for rope railing stanchions.

Excellent Synthetic

The Hempex rope was excellent if every respect. I expected it to be stiff since it was synthetic, but this rope 7/8" dia) is soft, pliable, and smoother feeling that real hemp. It also has the added advantages of being weather resistant, and the ends can be fused with heat so there is no fraying. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.

6mm Hempex for heaving lines

This traditional style three strand line has an almost identical hand to true Hemp but offers superior rot resistance and strength. For the purpose of tying two heaving lines for a large sailing yacht I chose it and am delighted with the results. I used a new style of Lacrosse practice ball (standard size, soft with no bounce) as the core for a seven turn Monkey's Fist finished with a Pro Splice and they are quite handsome and handle very nicely. Very nice line to work with, I will definitely use it again.
